New ‘Ford v Ferrari’ Trailer Puts the Pedal to the Metal

Ford v Ferrari
The second trailer to Ford v Ferrari, the latest film from James Mangold (who previously directed Walk the Line and Logan), puts emphasis on the famous race that made Ford a serious name in the racing business.

Based on the lead-up to the famous 1966 24 Hours of Le Mans race, along with the race itself, Ford v Ferrari follows the people behind the unlikely story of how an American car managed to outlast and outrace its European competitors… In spite of the clear conflict between the car’s designers and the daredevil driver. You can watch the trailer below:

Ford v Ferrari looks like a wild ride that continues to show that Jame Mangold is a force to be reckoned with. It seems that critics agree, as the movie’s screening at the Telluride Film Festival was met with an overwhelmingly positive response overall, which should bode well for the movie when it opens in a little over a month. In addition, Fox has released the second poster for the film, which you can see below:

The film features a star-studded cast that includes the likes of Christian Bale, Matt Damon, Caitriona Balfe, Noah Jupe, Tracy Letts, Jon Bernthal, Remo Girone, JJ Feild, Gian Franco Tordi, Josh Lucas, Jack McMullen, Benjamin Rigby, Joe Williamson, Alex Gurney, Corrado Invernizzi, and Ray McKinnon. The film is based on a script that Mangold wrote with Jez Butterworth, John-Henry Butterworth, and Jason Keller. Mangold is also producing the film alongside Peter Chernin, Lucas Foster, James Mangold, Jenno Topping, and Alex Young. Marco Beltrami is composing the film.

The film’s official synopsis is as follows:

Automobile magnates Henry Ford II and Lee Iacocca dispatch a team of engineers and designers to build a car to race against the Ferrari at the 1966 Le Mans.

Ford v Ferrari will be released on November 15, 2019.
