Action Packed Trailer Arrives for ‘John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum’
“All of this for what? Because of a puppy?” The latest action packed trailer for John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum is here. And, like the man himself, it doesn’t disappoint.
For a quick refresher: John Wick is a franchise about how the title character (portrayed by Keanu Reeves) has been a retired legendary assassin grieving over his ex-wife’s death. Knowing that she didn’t have long for the world, she wanted John to have something else to live for, and paid for a puppy that John quickly takes a liking to. Then some Russian mobsters break into his house and kill the puppy. Biiiig mistake.
What follows is a series of gloriously-well-executed action sequences over two films as Wick goes on a rampage against the mob and eventually gets back into the business, in which Reeves delivers some of his best work in his entire career. Though admittedly a little ridiculous in its premise, the franchise also explores a world in which there’s a viable economy for assassins (connected to an organization of hotels called The Continental) that’s integrated into modern society in a neon-soaked noir action-thriller.
Declared “excommunicado” for shedding blood on Continental grounds following the events of John Wick: Chapter 2, Wick is on the run with a $14 million price tag on his head and the world’s most ruthless hit men and women awaiting his every move.
But he’s John Wick. As Laurence Fishburne’s Bowery King says, if you think you can take him on, you have a nasty surprise coming. The mysterious High Table have the numbers, but Wick isn’t without allies. Halle Berry joins the cast as Sofia, an assassin and ally to Wick. And Ian McShane’s Winston is still on John’s side when, in a fantastic call back to The Matrix, Keanu Reeves needs “Guns. Lots of guns.”
In addition to the new trailer, ten new posters have been released for the final chapter in the trilogy. The new posters, which can be seen below, showcase Keanu Reeves as John Wick, Halle Berry as Sofia, Angelica Houston as The Director, Asia Kate Dillon as The Adjudicator, Jason Mantzoukas as Tick Tock Man, Ian McShane as Winston, Lance Reddick as Charon, Laurence Fishburne as the Bowery King, Mark Dacasos as Zero, and Said Taghmaoui as The Elder.
The clock is ticking down to John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum. The film hits theaters on May 17, 2019.
