‘Avengers: Endgame’ TV Spot: Our Heroes Will Do Whatever it Takes

Avengers
The second Avengers: Endgame TV Spot features yet another reminder of what our heroes have lost, and showcases their unbreakable resolve to do whatever it takes to reverse the damage that Thanos has done to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

In what appears to be a trend with the ad campaign, we start with some black, white, and red shots of the various casualties of Infinity War before moving on to footage from Endgame. There’s not new footage shown in this TV spot, but there is a little bit of new dialogue, and if you look closely, you might just see a few hints at where the story might be headed based on a few context clues.

Worth noting is that the TV spot’s flashbacks all focus on characters who either lost someone close to them or are close to other characters. As we’ve been able to see, Doctor Strange‘s Benedict Wong and Black Panther‘s Danai Gurira are both credited on the official poster in the fine print of the cast list, and while the Sorcerer Supreme and Wakanda’s King were both dusted, both Wong and Gurira’s presence (however small) on the poster indicate that they may have larger roles than we’re expecting. Meanwhile, the clip emphasizing Scott Lang’s ex-wife suggests that she might have also been among the dusted. Curiously, the clip seems to show what appears to be a digitally-edited shot where Tony Stark and Nebula aren’t a part of the team doing the classic “team looks badass while walking toward something with determination” shot, but they appear in the close-ups.

The film’s official synopsis is as follows:

“The grave course of events set in motion by Thanos that wiped out half the universe and fractured the Avengers ranks compels the remaining Avengers to take one final stand in Marvel Studios’ grand conclusion to twenty-two films, Avengers: Endgame.”

Avengers: Endgame hits theaters on April 26, 2019.
