Disney’s ‘Aladdin’ Trailer Coming Tomorrow

Aladdin
Last month Disney released a special look at Aladdin during the Grammy Awards, including a long awaited first look at Will Smith’s Genie. Now, with the film just over two months away, Good Morning America have announced that the full trailer for Guy Ritchie’s live action reimagining of the classic tale will premiere tomorrow morning.

After the mixed, at best, reaction to the Grammy TV spot, there’s a lot riding on the full trailer to really wow fans and rebuild some of the positive word of mouth that the film was getting following it’s teaser trailer last year.

Fortunately, it sounds like the trailer will impress fans who were disappointed by their first look at the Genie. Scott Ladewig, who recently found himself the center of attention on Twitter after revealing details of footage from Star Wars: Episode IX and Avengers: Endgame from the Disney Shareholders meeting last week, also got to see some new footage from Aladdin.

He then went on to confirm that the Genie he saw looked much closer to the, superior, still image that Disney released at the same time as the Grammy preview.

So, in the words of Genie, “here’s hoping” that everyone will be happy when we see Genie again tomorrow morning.

As for what else he saw;

According to Ladewig “big blue Genie” is the jumbo sized Genie, like the one we can see in the finished CGI image, whilst “regular size blue” Genie is human size, and “not blue” Genie is human form of Genie that we saw in the Entertainment Weekly images at the end of last year.

In terms of Genie, the shareholders were shown footage from both ‘Friend Like Me’ and ‘Prince Ali’, a distance shot of Genie and Aladdin looking out towards Agrabah, were Genie’s lower half was sparkling and magical looking smoke, and some footage that looked to be the same scene as the image above;

So it sounds like shareholders saw enough footage of Genie to reassure them.

In addition to teasing the opening of ‘A Whole New World’, shareholders were treated to additional scenes of Aladdin and Jasmine;

Aladdin opens May 24th 2019.
