Second ‘Pokémon: Detective Pikachu’ Trailer Reveals Iconic Legendary Pokémon
The second trailer for Pokémon: Detective Pikachu is here, featuring an epic, orchestral version of the first Pokémon theme song and a big reveal of the film’s “Legendary” villain.
There’s plenty of new footage to be found in the new trailer, ranging from showing Detective Pikachu’s coffee addiction and revealing that he’s conscious about getting into fights, and revealing that Mewtwo is involved as the film as a major antagonist. You can check it out below:
As an aside, I have to say that it’s interesting how quickly this movie is garnering attention and is being taken seriously as a major blockbuster, considering the stigma that video game movies usually have. It really seems like Detective Pikachu is really shaping up to be something truly special. It’s hardly surprising to see why Warner Bros. and Legendary are already getting started on developing a sequel to this film.
The film’s premise is as follows:
A young man joins forces with Detective Pikachu to unravel the mystery behind his father’s disappearance. Chasing clues through the streets of Ryme City, the dynamic duo soon discover a devious plot that poses a threat to the Pokémon universe.
Pokémon: Detective Pikachu will be released on May 10, 2019.
