First Trailer and Poster Arrive for ‘Shaft’

Shaft
Three generations unite in the first trailer and poster for Shaft, as family must always come first, whether they work for the law or find their own brand of justice.

Needing help with an investigation, John Shaft III (Jessie T. Usher) turns to the one man he knows can help: his father, John Shaft II (Samuel L. Jackson). But it’s not long before the investigation turns into a family affair, reuniting the father-son duo with both Jr.’s mother (Regina Hall) and John Shaft I (Richard Roundtree). You can watch the trailer below:

The family-team up looks it’s going to make for a pretty fun time at the movies, with plenty of action and humor to enjoy as generations clash on their hunt for justice.

Shaft is the next chapter in the film franchise featuring the coolest private eye on any New York City block.  JJ aka John Shaft Jr. (Usher), may be a cyber security expert with a degree from MIT, but to uncover the truth behind his best friend’s untimely death, he needs an education only his dad can provide. Absent throughout JJ’s youth, the legendary locked-and-loaded John Shaft (Jackson) agrees to help his progeny navigate Harlem’s heroin-infested underbelly. And while JJ’s own FBI analyst’s badge may clash with his dad’s trademark leather coat, there’s no denying family. Besides, Shaft’s got an agenda of his own, and a score to settle that’s professional and personal.
