UPDATE 2! The First Teaser Trailer for ‘The Lion King’ Debuts!

The Lion King
Hakuna Matata and Happy Thanksgiving everyone! We’ve just received a tip that the first teaser trailer for Disney’s upcoming “live-action” remake (read: basically all-CGI, featuring motion-capture for the cast of animal characters) of The Lion King movie will be dropping later today, so keep your eyes peeled. Directed and produced by Jon Favreau, the remake of the 1994 Disney animated classic is sure to be a massive hit in what’s shaping up to be Disney’s biggest year ever.

According to our friend @ImAFilmEditor, the highly anticipated teaser trailer will hit today on Thanksgiving:

We’ve reached out to him and he confirmed his confidence with the story. He also shared that a couple of other people got this info too, and while this is still an unconfirmed rumor, there is still a big chance for it to be true. We just have to wait a few more hours to see. The last time any footage for The Lion King was shown happened around Disney D23, where any early build of the recreation of the iconic “The Circle of Life” scene was first revealed to attendees. Might that be what we get during one of today’s big football games?

Following in the footsteps of The Jungle Book and Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King will use state-of-the-art CGI to bring the animals to life, and you may or may not know this, but James Earl Jones is back as the voice of Mufasa! We look forward to seeing the trailer, and once we do, remember… Everything the sun touches is our kingdom!

UPDATE 1!

The cat, or lion in this case, is out of the bag. The actor who portrayed Simba in his younger years has confirmed that we will indeed be getting a trailer today!

The predominant rumor is that the trailer will hit in time for the Cowboys VS Redskins match-up. Keep your eyes peeled!
