‘Knives Out’: Jamie Lee Curtis Joins the Cast
Jamie Lee Curtis, fresh off of the absolutely massive opening for Halloween (2018), is the next star in line to join the cast of Knives Out.
Variety reports that the original scream queen herself has managed to cut into the increasingly-interesting murder mystery movie. In addition, Deadline is reporting that actor Don Johnson may be involved with the film, but is in the midst of closing the deal. They will be joining an all-star cast that includes Daniel Craig (who will be filming this movie due to the delay to the production of his final James Bond movie), Chris Evans, Lakeith Stanfield, Michael Shannon, and Ana De Armas. Craig’s character is described as a detective hired to solve a crime, while all other roles are entirely mysterious.
Rian Johnson is set to direct and write Knives Out, and the highly-anticipated project will likely have a distributor in the coming months. Johnson’s original movie will serve as his first small-scale project after working on the massive Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi, and it will directly precede development on his first spin-off in a planned trilogy of films. For both Star Wars and Knives Out, Johnson has enlisted the assistance of longtime collaborator Ram Bergman to co-produce the projects. Filming begins in November.
Knives Out is in development, and it does not yet have a release date.
