“Hakuna Matata” – Jon Favreau Shares Photo from ‘The Lion King’

The Lion King
It certainly looks like the cast have no worries as Jon Favreau shared the first glimpse behind the scenes of The Lion King earlier this week.

Favreau, who has been enjoying teasing Star Wars fans on social media recently, decided to switch things up a bit this week and gave Disney fans a quick glimpse behind the scenes of his highly anticipated photorealistic adaptation of The Lion King.

The photo features Favreau, along with Donald Glover (Simba), Seth Rogen (Pumbaa), and Billy Eichner (Timon) in the recording studio. Rogen also shared the photo, with the simple caption of “Hakuna Matata” confirming that the trio were recording a new rendition of the popular song.

The Lion King, which opens July 19th 2019, will be the third adaptation that Disney releases next year, following Dumbo in March and Aladdin in May. This new adaptation will see Favreau using the same photorealistic animation as he did on 2016’s The Jungle Book to bring the African savannah to life.

Directed by John Favreau from a screenplay by Jeff Nathanson, The Lion King stars Donald Glover, Beyoncé Knowles-Carter, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Billy Eichner, and Seth Rogen, with James Earl Jones returning to once again voice Mufasa.
