Gal Gadot and Armie Hammer to Star in ‘Death on the Nile’

Death on the Nile
Gal Gadot and Armie Hammer have signed on for leading roles in Fox’s Death on the Nile. According to Deadline, Gadot will play heiress Linnet Ridgeway Doyle in the Agatha Christie adaptation whilst Hammer’s role is currently unknown.

Last year’s star studded adaptation of Murder on the Orient Express was a hit for the studio, bringing in over $350 million worldwide, so it’s no surprise that Kenneth Branagh is returning to direct the sequel, along with writer Michael Green. More surprising is that Branagh has not yet been confirmed as returning in the role of Detective Poirot.

The film’s plot is expected to follow book, with Poirot investigating a murder that takes place on a luxurious Nile cruise only for several of his suspects to die as well. Given that Murder on the Orient Express starred a whole host of big names including Daisy Ridley, Penelope Cruz, Johnny Depp, Judi Dench, William Defoe, and Josh Gad, it’s likely that Hammer and Gadot are just the tip of the iceberg for the sequel.

Death on the Nile is due to film next summer for release 20th December 2019.
