‘Chilling Adventures of Sabrina’ Trailer Hits in Time for Halloween
Chilling Adventures of Sabrina has received another trailer showing that while it’s a darker take on the source material, there’s still levity to be had. But it sure isn’t your parents’ version of the teenage witch that they saw in the pages of Archie Comics.
In the new trailer, we get an extended look at Greendale and the supernatural, demonic world hidden beneath its quiet exterior. It doesn’t look quite as dark as the first trailer showed – which is actually a bit of a relief – but the show is indeed going to take things in a grimmer, scarier direction than the original comics (and their TV adaptations) ever went in.
The show seems to be a good fit on Netflix considering that The CW’s Riverdale (based on the main cast of Archie Comics) got a huge boost in popularity when their show hit the streaming platform. Hopefully, the series does well.
The show’s synopsis is as follows:
Her name is Sabrina Spellman. Half witch. Half mortal. On her 16th birthday, Sabrina (Kiernan Shipka) has to make a choice between the witch world of her family and the human world of her friends. With her aunties (Miranda Otto, Lucy Davis), her cat Salem, and her boyfriend Harvey Kinkle (Ross Lynch), Sabrina will face horrors and new adventures in the mysterious town of Greendale. From the executive producers of Riverdale comes a haunting new tale.
Chilling Adventures of Sabrina Season 1 will arrive on Netflix on October 26.
