‘Titans’ Trailer Teases a Mature, Gritty Adaptation
The new trailer for Titans showcases edgy, angsty teen heroes eager to escape the shadows of their past.
A common criticism of DC film media is that it relies too heavily on the public’s love of the Caped Crusader. Titans, the Teen Titans television adaptation coming to DC’s new streaming service, has a bold answer to that:
“F*** Batman”.
The trailer shows us glimpses of action with Brendan Thwaites’ Dick Grayson/Robin, Anna Diop as Starfire, Teagan Croft as Raven, and Ryan Potter as Beast Boy, among others.
Some fans may be familiar with the Teen Titans from its other television appearances as a pair of beloved animated shows, but this trailer makes it clear that Titans will be an even darker and more mature take on the team, to the point that even the trailer itself carries a TV-MA rating.
Titans, distributed by Warner Bros. Television, is expected to release alongside the DC Universe streaming service later this year.
