‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ Casts Numan Acar – Possibly as the Chameleon
Deadline is reporting that Spider-Man: Far From Home will be casting Numan Acar as a character named Dmitri. Sony Pictures has not clarified if the character in question is Dmitri Smerdyakov, AKA the Chameleon.
The Chameleon is a supervillain whose powers are all tied around his abilities to impersonate the appearance and voice of nearly anybody. The character has been part of the franchise since one of the first issues of The Amazing Spider-Man, and while he isn’t necessarily a combat-focused villain, that doesn’t stop him from being a dangerous adversary as he’s able to learn crucial information and hide in plain sight, making him an ideal spy.
Regardless of whether or not Acar is portraying Dmitri Smerdyakov (Chameleon), he will be joined by Tom Holland as Peter Parker (Spider-Man), Jake Gyllenhaal as Quentin Beck (Mysterio), Michael Keaton as Adrian Toomes (Vulture), Marisa Tomei as May Parker, Zendaya as Michelle “MJ” Jones, Jacob Batalon as Ned, Hemky Madera as Mr. Delmar, and J. B. Smoove in an undisclosed role.
Spider-Man: Far From Home will be released on July 5, 2019.
