‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ Sequel Titled ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’

Spider-Man actor Tom Holland has a reputation for accidentally giving away spoilers, so the actor planted his tongue firmly in his cheek when revealing the title of the next Spider-Man movie to his Instagram followers.

While waiting for a panel at the ACE Comic Con in Seattle, Washington, Holland explained that he unfortunately doesn’t have a lot to share about the details on the tentatively-titled Spider-Man 2. However, he did want to point out that he just received the script on his electronic pad… Which he clearly shows, featuring the title Spider-Man: Far From Home.

Sorry for no announcements, but I love you guys ♥️

Right now, there’s a chance that this could just be a joke and that Holland is just pranking his fans. However, rumors indicate that the Spider-Man sequel will be taking its eponymous hero across Europe, with filming rumored to take place in Venice, London, Prague, and possibly Berlin – all of which, as the title suggests, are far from his home of New York City. It would also thematically tie in with Spider-Man: Homecoming also featuring “home” as a key part of its subtitle. With production looking to begin soon, we likely won’t have too long to wait.

UPDATE: And now we’ve got confirmation from Holland that it’s the real deal.

Spider-Man: Far From Home will be released on July 5, 2019.
