‘Ant-Man and the Wasp’ Has Direct Connection to ‘Avengers 4’
The latest Ant-Man and the Wasp featurette confirms that Marvel’s smallest movie in recent memory will end up being incredibly important in the buildup to Avengers 4.
The new featurette details the backstory of two characters to assume the title of the Wasp: Janet Van Dyne, the original, and Hope Van Dyne, her daughter and the successor to the title. While Janet hasn’t been shown much in the footage released (aside from appearing on the ensemble poster), the ad suggests that she’ll and the other characters featured in this movie will be important for Avengers 4. Kevin Feige once again re-iterated how this movie does set up a major element to the story of the next major Marvel team-up.
With the ad campaign recently playing up this movie’s status as taking place just before the events of Avengers: Infinity War, one wonders if – SPOILER ALERT – that movie’s ending will factor into the plot, either at the very end of the film or in one of the after-credits scenes. There’s a reason that the Wasp wasn’t included in that production art that just leaked…
Ant-Man and The Wasp will be released on July 6, 2018.
